Bell Tower Of The Gaeta Cathedral
The bell tower of Gaeta Cathedral is located behind the building, in Pope Gelasius Square, overlooking the Gulf of Gaeta. Built in the Romanesque architecture, Romanesque style with strong Norman–Arab–Byzantine culture, Arab-Norman influence, it is 57 meters high, was built beginning in 1148 and was completed in 1279 with the construction of the apex tower. Trifora is a type of three-light window. The trifora usually appears in towers and belfries—on the top floors, where it is necessary to lighten the structure with wider openings. Overview The trifora has three openings divided by two small columns or pilasters, on which rest three arches, round or acute. Sometimes, the whole trifora is framed by a further large arch. The space among arches is usually decorated by a coat of arms or a circular opening. Wrought iron is an iron alloy with a very low carbon content (less than 0.05%) in contrast to that of cast iron (2.1% to 4.5%), or 0.25 for low carbon "mild" steel. Dionisio Lazzari
Dionisio Lazzari (17 October 1617 – 9 August 1689) was an Italian sculptor and architect. He was born in Naples in 1617, the son of Jacopo Lazzari and Caterina Papini. Jacopo was born in Florence, and his and Dionisio's work shows Tuscan influences. In Dionisio, these are combined with the style of the Neapolitan baroque, as exemplified by Cosimo Fanzago. One of Lazzari's pupils was Arcangelo Guglielmelli.
