Belgium In The Eurovision Song Contest 2012
Belgium was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Would You?" written by Ravvel, Nina Sampermans, Jean Bosco Safari and Walter Mannaerts. The song was performed by Iris (singer), Iris, who was internally selected by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT) in November 2011 to represent the nation at the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song was selected through the national final ''Eurosong 2012: Een song voor Iris'', which was organised by VRT and featured two songs. In the final on 17 March 2012, "Would You?" was selected as the winning song after gaining 53% of the public televote. Belgium was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 22 May 2012. Laura van den Bruel, known as Iris or Airis (born 19 January 1995), is a Belgians, Belgian singer. Eurovision On 18 November 2011, it was announced by Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT), that Iris would represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. She performed the song "Would You? (Iris song), Would You?", finished second last in the first semi-final, and did not make the Eurovision final. Lieven Scheire
Lieven Scheire (born 3 May 1981) is a Belgian comedian, presenter and science communicator. Career Scheire attended secondary school at the Sint-Lodewijkscollege in Lokeren; he then began a physics degree at Ghent University, but dropped out to become a stand-up comedian. He won the Lunatic Stand-up Comedy Award in 2002. Ruth Jacott (born 2 September 1960) is a Surinamese-Dutch singer. Melkweg (Dutch for "Milky Way") is a music venue and cultural center on Lijnbaansgracht, near Leidseplein in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is housed in a former dairy and includes four music halls as well as a cinema, a restaurant and an exhibition space. It is operated by a nonprofit organisation founded in 1970.
