Belarus In The Eurovision Song Contest 2007
Belarus was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Work Your Magic", composed by Philip Kirkorov, with lyrics by Karen Kavaleryan, and performed by Dmitry Koldun. The Belarusian participating broadcaster, Belteleradio, Belarusian Television and Radio Company (BTRC), selected its entry through a national final. The national final was a televised production which consisted of a semi-final and a final held on 15 December 2006 and 22 January 2007, respectively. Fifteen competing acts participated in the semi-final where three entries qualified to the final: one entry selected by a public televote and two entries selected by a seven-member jury panel. In the final, the jury panel selected "Work Your Magic" performed by Dmitry Koldun as the winner. Belarus was competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2007. Belteleradio
The National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (; ), known as Belteleradiocompany (; ) or simply Belteleradio, is the state television and radio broadcasting service in Belarus. From 1993 until 2021, it was a full active member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) under the name Belarusian Television and Radio Company (BTRC). In May 2021, the EBU Executive Board agreed to suspend BTRC as a member of the broadcasting union effective 11 June 2021. The broadcaster later іndіcated that the suspension would expire in 2024, but this was later denied by the EBU a couple months prior to when the suspension hypothetically would have been lifted as they publicly addressed that they had "no reason" to reinstate BTRC's membership "at the current time". Yadviga Poplavskaya
Yadviga Konstantinovna Poplavskaya (, born 1 May 1949) is a Soviet and Belarusian singer, member of the first ensemble Verasy and a People’s Artist of Belarus (2005). Biography Born into a musical family, her father, choirmaster Konstantin Poplavsky, together with Gennady Tsitovich created Belarusian State Folk Choir. Poplavskaya graduated from Belarusian Conservatory twice - in piano (1972) and separation of composition (1988). In 1971, she was among the founders of the Minsk-based VIA "Verasy". In the ensemble she played keyboards, sung vocals, and wrote arrangements. The Eurovision Song Contest 1991 was the 36th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 4 May 1991 at Stage 15 of the Studios in Rome, Italy. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the third edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged 8 to 15. On 26 November 2005, the contest was broadcast live from the Trixxo Arena, Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium, in a joint effort by the national broadcasters Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) and RTBF, Radio télévision belge de la communauté française (RTBF), in co-operation with the European Broadcasting Union.
