Behind The Sun (film)
''Behind the Sun'' () is a 2001 social drama film directed by Walter Salles, produced by Arthur Cohn, and starring Rodrigo Santoro. Its original Portuguese title means ''Shattered April'', and it is based on the 1978 novel '' Broken April'' written by the Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, about the honor culture in the North of Albania. Co-produced by Brazil, France, and Switzerland, it was shot entirely in Bahia, taking place in Bom Sossego, a district of the city of Oliveira dos Brejinhos, and in the cities of Caetité and Rio de Contas. The film was selected as the Brazilian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 74th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Walter Moreira Salles Júnior (; ; born 12 April 1956) is a Brazilian filmmaker. Northern Albania
Northern Albania () is one of the three NUTS-2 regions of Albania, along with Central Albania and Southern Albania (). It consists of the counties of Dibër, Durrës, Kukës, Lezhë and Shkodër. Abraccine Top 100 Brazilian Films
In 2015, the (Abraccine) published a list with the 100 best Brazilian films ever according to the votes of its members. This poll was the basis for a book named ''The 100 Best Brazilian Films'', published in 2016. The idea of the ranking and the book was suggested by publisher Letramento, with whom Abraccine and television network Canal Brasil co-released the book. The ranking was done based on individual lists done by Abraccine's 100 critics, who initially mentioned 379 films. The full list was first made available to the public on 26 November 2015, and the book was released on 1 September 2016. The list covers almost all decades between the 1930s and the 2010s, the only exception being the 1940s. Rio De Contas
Rio de Contas is a municipality in the Bahia state, in the eastern part of Brazil. Its estimated population was 12,932. Rio de Contas has its origins in the 18th century. In 1718 the town of Santo Antônio de Mato Grosso was founded. It was later elevated to the status of municipality in 1773, with the designation of Vila Nova de Nossa Senhora do Livramento das Minas do Rio de Contas. Caetité is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Bahia. It is located in the semi-arid ''sertão'' region in the interior of the state. It had an estimated 51,081 inhabitants as of 2020. It covers and is from the state capital, Salvador.
