Becoming The Archetype
Becoming the Archetype is an American extreme metal band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999. They have released six albums on Solid State Records. ''Dichotomy'', which was released in November 2008, sold around 2,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The CD debuted at No. 18 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the top 100 of the ''Billboard'' 200. The band was part of the new wave of American heavy metal. After 2012's ''I Am'', the band went on an indefinite hiatus. ''I Am'' is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Becoming the Archetype. The album was recorded between May 21 and June 17 and released on September 18, 2012, through Solid State Records. This album is a departure from the previous effort, as Seth Hecox says, "gone are the sitars and horns of Celestial Completion. Instead, we've crafted an album full of the heaviest and most technical songs we've ever written.” It is the first and only release by the band to feature Chris McCane on vocals, Codey Watkins on bass, and Chris Heaton on drums. Guitarist/vocalist Seth Hecox was the only original member from the debut album featured on I Am. Scarlet is a metalcore band from Richmond, Virginia currently on a long term hiatus. History Scarlet formed in Yorktown, Virginia in the late 1990s. In 2000, the band released its first EP ''Breaking the Dead Stare''. Shortly afterward, Scarlet disbanded with Jon Spencer leaving to perform vocals for Virginia Beach-based metalcore band, Spitfire. Aletheian are a Christian progressive death metal, progressive/melodic death metal band. They formed in Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1997 under the name Crutch, and then changed their name to "Aletheian" prior to the 2003 album ''Apolutrosis''.
