Alphonse De Beauchamp
Alphonse de Beauchamp (1767–1832) was a French people, French historian. Life Beauchamp was born in Monaco and educated in Paris. He entered the Kingdom of Sardinia, Sardinian military service in 1784, but suffered imprisonment in 1792 for refusing to bear arms against the French Republic. Beauchamp escaped to France, where he obtained a position in the office of the Minister of Police, and was assigned the surveillance of the press. Beauchamp commenced his ''Histoire de la Vendée et des Chouans'' (three volumes, Paris, 1806), which depicted the cruelties of the Fouché regime. This book displeased the Napoleon I of France, Emperor, and Beauchamp was banished to Rheims. He was recalled in 1811 and received a subordinate appointment. Under the Bourbon Restoration in France, Restoration, he received a pension and wrote for the ''Moniteur'' and the ''Gazette de France''. Kathleen Mansfield Murry (née Beauchamp; 14 October 1888 – 9 January 1923) was a New Zealand writer and critic who was an important figure in the Literary modernism, modernist movement. Her works are celebrated across the world and have been published in 25 languages. John Beauchamp (c. 1592–1655) was an influential member of the Plymouth Company. Origins He was born at Stoke-sub-Hamdon in Somerset, the eldest son and heir of John de Beauchamp, 2nd Baron Beauchamp of Hatch Beauchamp in Somerset by his wife Margaret St. John. Career He was Warden of the Cinque Ports from 1359 to about 1361. King Edward III issued a commission to Beauchamp from 1359 to act as Warden and Keeper of the Ports of Kent. Joseph Scott Beauchamp (April 11, 1944May 20, 2020) was an American professional football player who was a defensive back for the San Diego Chargers. He played college football at Iowa State University before playing professionally for the Chargers in the American Football League (AFL) from 1966 through 1969 and in the National Football League (NFL) from 1970 through 1975. Constance 'Joan' Beauchamp (1 November 1890 – 1964) was a British anti-World War I campaigner, suffragette and co-founder of the Communist Party of Great Britain. Childhood She was born in 1890 into a farming family in Welton, Midsomer Norton in Somerset. She was the sister of Kay Beauchamp, who went on to become a fellow founder member of the Communist Party of Great Britain. The family was part of the Beauchamp family that dominated the Somerset coalfield, her father being the cousin of Sir Frank Beauchamp and Louis Beauchamp who owned coalmines in the area.
