Beatriz Alcina de Lyra Andrade (May 2, 1933), is a Brazilian actress. Biography Early years Beatriz Lyra was born in Canhotinho, a small town in the Pernambuco's interior. She moved to Rio de Janeiro to pursue her acting career. She began her career at the Teatro Experimental da Ópera de Pascoal, directed by , in Rio de Janeiro’s Santa Teresa neighborhood. Career She made her debuted in 1969 in the soap opera ' written by Dias Gomes, on TV Globo. Two years later, she appeared in her first film ', directed by and . Since then, she acted in several soap operas, most notably in '' Escrava Isaura'', playing the sick and lonely Ester, the owner of the slave Isaura. ''Sol de Verão'' (''The Summer Sun'' in English) is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by Rede Globo. It premiered on 11 October 1982 and ended on 18 March 1983. The death of lead actor Jardel Filho, when only 120 episodes out of the originally planned 155 were finished, caused the production to be cut short. Marieta Severo da Costa (born 2 November 1946) is a Brazilian stage, film and television actress. She is best known to youth audiences as the archetypal mother figure in popular sitcom '' A Grande Família'' (2001–2014), as well to mature audiences for portraying villains in telenovelas.
