Bayview Station (Ottawa)
Bayview station is an O-Train interchange station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, connecting lines 1 (Confederation Line) and 2 (Trillium Line). History Bayview station opened on October 15, 2001, as the northern terminus of the O-Train (now known as the Trillium Line). An infill station on the Transitway between Tunney's Pasture and LeBreton (now Pimisi), with a pair of elevated bus platforms at the western end of Albert Street, openend the same day. Paved asphalt footpaths connected the two stops on opposite sides of the Transitway and the train platform. On January 17, 2016, the transitway platforms closed for conversion to light rail, with all buses diverting via Albert Street. The station reopened on September 14, 2019, as an intermediate stop on the first phase of the Confederation Line, making Bayview an important rapid transit transfer point. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. Pimisi Station
Pimisi station is a light rail station on Line 1 as part of the O-Train network. Location The stop is located under Booth Street in LeBreton Flats. and opened on September 14, 2019. It serves the redeveloped flats area, including the New Central Library, Chinatown, and Little Italy. History The Transitway station was originally named LeBreton. By proposal of the local Algonquin leaders it was renamed "Pimisi" (Algonquin: ''eel'') when it was rebuilt to accommodate the O-Train. Layout The station features an island platform located at grade. Unusually, the platform level is an intermediate level. Above it, two entrance buildings with entrance barriers are located on either side of Booth Street. Below the platform, a concourse with its own ticket barrier gives access to the green space and plaza north of the station and to Albert Street. Tunney's Pasture Station
Tunney's Pasture station is the western O-Train light rail terminal train station and a major bus transitway station in Ottawa, Ontario. Location It is located at the Tunney's Pasture government office complex, on Scott Street at Holland Avenue. History When originally opened in 1983, the transitway in the area consisted of a through station in a below-grade 'trench' parallel to Scott Street. Each platform had an elevator and stairway to the ground level above; the two sides were connected by an enclosed pedestrian bridge, and the ground-level station area also has platforms for local buses. O-Train
The O-Train is a light rail system in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, operated by OC Transpo. The O-Train system consists of three lines, all of which are fully Grade separation, grade-separated. As of March 2025, one line is currently being extended and a new line will be added as part of the Stage 2 project, with new segments being phased in between 2025 and 2027. Transitway (Ottawa)
The Transitway is a bus rapid transit (BRT) network operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It comprises a series of bus-only roadways and reserved lanes on city streets and highways. The dedicated busways ensure that buses and emergency vehicles on the Transitway rarely intersect directly with regular traffic, making it possible to run quickly and consistently, even during rush hour traffic.
