Baytaq (), officially the "Baytaq" Green Party of Kazakhstan ( kk, Қазақстанның «Байтақ» жасылдар партиясы, Qazaqstannyñ «Baytaq» («Baitaq») jasyldar partiasy) is a green political party in Kazakhstan. The leader of the party is Azamathan Ämirtai, a member of the National Kurultai under the President. Previously he was a member of the Board of Directors of JSC National Managing Holding KazAgro and the National Council of Public Trust under the President. Ideology The party states that it "strives to unite environmentalists and advocate for clean environmental conditions, responsible business, enterprise modernization, safe working conditions and other eco-initiatives." The party positions itself as the first green party in the history of Kazakhstan. The party is not considered an opposition party. 2023 Kazakh Legislative Election
Snap legislative elections were held in Kazakhstan on 19 March 2023 to elect the members of the Mäjilis. This was the ninth legislative election since Kazakhstan's independence in 1991 and the first snap election for the Mäjilis seats since 2016. It was held alongside the local assembly elections. At the September 2022 State of the Nation Address, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced snap legislative elections to take place in the first half of 2023 in the aftermath of deadly unrest in January 2022. During that time, a series of laws and amendments were approved following the 2022 constitutional referendum, which aimed to reform Kazakhstan's political system by granting more parliamentary powers to the lower chamber Mäjilis as well as for its mandate seats to be allocated via mixed electoral system for the first time since 2004. Azamathan Ämirtai
Azamathan Ämirtai ( kk , Азаматхан Әміртай , born 21 March 1978) is a Kazakh politician, businessman, Founder and Chairman of Baytaq (Green Party of Kazakhstan). Biography Azamathan Ämirtai was born in Jambyl Region on March 21, 1978. In 2012, his child fell ill, developed severe allergies and diathesis, and died. Although at that time Ämirtai was engaged in business and had money for treatment, it did not save the child. After this tragic event, Amirtay quit his business in 2013 and began his social activities. He sold his property and invested the money in creation of the Party. In 2017, as the chairman of Baytaq, Ämirtai launched a project to plant 18 million trees across Kazakhstan to celebrate the birth of the country's 18 millionth resident. In 2023, Ämirtai presented Diana Murzagalieva, a 16-year-old environmental activist from Semey, as the party's spokesperson. The Mäjilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan ( kk, Қазақстан Республикасы Парламенті Мәжілісі, Qazaqstan Respublikasy Parlamentî Mäjîlîsî, also transliterated as Mazhilis; "Assembly" in Kazakh) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Kazakhstan. The upper house of Parliament is the Senate of Kazakhstan. There are 98 directly-elected seats in the chamber. Members of Parliament are elected to five-year terms. Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party
The "Auyl" People's Patriotic Democratic Party (, ''«Auyl» Halyqtyq-demokratialyq patriottyq partiasy''; AHDPP) or simply as "Auyl" HDPP, is a political party in Kazakhstan. It was originally founded by Gani Qaliev on 30 January 2000 as the "Auyl" Peasant Social Democratic Party before eventually merging with the Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan on 5 September 2015. The party is currently led by Senator for Turkistan Region Äli Bektaev from August 2015. Kazakh Alphabets
Three alphabets are used to write the Kazakh language: the Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic scripts. The Cyrillic script is used in Kazakhstan and Mongolia. An October 2017 Presidential Decree in Kazakhstan ordered that the transition from Cyrillic to a Latin script be completed by 2025. The Arabic script is used in parts of China, Iran and Afghanistan. North Kazakhstan Region
North Kazakhstan Region ( kk, Солтүстік Қазақстан облысы, translit=Soltüstık Qazaqstan oblysy; russian: Северо-Казахстанская область, translit=Severo-Kazakhstanskaya oblast) is a region of Kazakhstan, with a population of 558 700. Jetisu Region (; ), sometimes spelled Zhetysu Region, is a Regions of Kazakhstan, region of Kazakhstan. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on 16 March 2022 that the region would be created. The area split off from Almaty Region when Tokayev's decree came into force on 8 June 2022. The administrative center of the region is Taldykorgan, and the center of Almaty Region was moved to Qonayev. On 11 June 2022 Beibit Isabayev was appointed as akim of the region. Akmola Region
Akmola Region ( kz, Ақмола облысы, translit=Aqmola oblysy; russian: Акмолинская область, Akmolinskaya oblast) is a centrally located region of Kazakhstan. Its capital is Kokshetau. The national capital, Astana, is enclosed by the region, but is politically separate from Akmola Region. The region's population is 715,000; Kokshetau's is 157,000.
