The Battle of Sadakhlo was a military battle fought from 19 to 23 December 1918, between the First Republic of Armenia and the Democratic Republic of Georgia during the 1918 Armeno-Georgian war. The battle was one of the most significant events during the war between Armenia and Georgia. Sadakhlo
Sadakhlo ( Georgian: სადახლო, ) is a village in Georgia located in the southern part of country in the administrative territory of Marneuli Municipality (Kvemo Kartli Region) at the border with Armenia. The village is about south of the municipal center Marneuli and south of the capital Tbilisi. It is situated along the left bank of the Debeda river. Sadakhlo is the largest village in Georgia, and is the center of the eponymous administrative community (თემი, temi) that includes 4 other nearby villages: Burma, Tazakendi, Molaoghli, and Khuldara. Giorgi Mazniashvili ( ka, გიორგი მაზნიაშვილი) (6 April 1871 – 9 September 1937) was a Georgian general and one of the most prominent military figures in the Democratic Republic of Georgia. Shaumiani ( ka, შაუმიანი, ) is village in the Marneuli Municipality, Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. Until 1925 it was named Shulaveri or Shulaver (), later being renamed after Stepan Shahumyan.
