Battle Of Mindat
The Battle of Mindat was the first large-scale military engagement of the current Myanmar civil war between civilians and the State Administration Council. It took place in and around Mindat, Chin State, in northwestern Myanmar in April and May of 2021. The battle was reflected a growing trend of armed resistance in the lead-up to the formal declaration of war on 5 May by the National Unity Government of Myanmar. Mindat and Mindat Township continued to be a conflict-hit area and the battle was one of many clashes in Chin State since then. Background In the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, the Chinland Defense Force (CDF) was formed on 4 April 2021 as a group for the Chin people to resist the Myanmar junta. Mindat, Chin State
Mindat is located at south of the Chin State. Mindat (, ) is a town in the Chin State of Western Myanmar.It is the administration seat of Mindat Township and Mindat District. The people speak the Kʼchò language. History In 2021, the town was the site of the battle of Mindat during the Myanmar civil war (2021–present). People The people living in Mindat are called K'Cho(Cho), which is made up of 3 regions; Mün, Daai, and Kaang. The K'Cho people are known for their rare tradition of females having their face tattooed. However, this tradition is no longer practice since in 1962 and face tattoo can only be seen on elderly women. The Embassy of the United States of America in Rangoon represents the official diplomatic mission of the American government in Burma (Myanmar), provides assistance to American citizens and issues visas to foreign nationals, for the purposes of visiting and immigration. BNI aggregates and publishes bilingual Burmese and English news content from affiliated news agencies on its online portal. Operation Chin Brotherhood
In June 2024, the Chin Brotherhood Alliance, a military alliance of several Chin ethnic organisations, launched Operation Chin Brotherhood, shortened to Operation CB, an operation to capture regions which the CBA is active in. This operation has been aided by several non-Chin groups, notably the Rakhine-led Arakan Army and the Magway Region-based Yaw Army. During the offensives, five town's have been captured by the CBA: Matupi, Lailenpi, Mindat, Kanpetlet, and Falam. Preceding Offensives Before the launch of Operation CB, the CBA launched several other offensives. On 22 December 2023, the CBA began an offensive on the strategically important town of Kyindwe, Kanpetlet Township, planning to capture the town by Christmas. Arakan Army
The Arakan Army (; Abbreviation, abbreviated AA), sometimes referred to as the Arakha Army is an Ethnic nationalism, ethnic-List of insurgent groups in Myanmar, armed organisation based in Rakhine State (Arakan). Founded in April 2009, the Arakan Army is the military wing of the United League of Arakan (ULA). It is currently led by Commander-in-Chief Major General Twan Mrat Naing and vice deputy commander-in-chief Brigadier General Nyo Twan Awng. The Myanmar Army (; ) is the largest branch of the Tatmadaw, the armed forces of Myanmar, and has the primary responsibility of conducting land-based military operations.
