Battle Of Loikaw (2021)
The 2021 Battle of Loikaw was an engagement between the Tatmadaw against ethnic Karenni militias and local PDF civilian guerrillas. The battle began on 21 May 2021, and was one of the first engagements of the current Myanmar Civil War in Kayah State. Prelude Since 1949, ethnic Karenni militias have waged a low-level insurgency in Myanmar's Kayah State, where they make up the majority of the population. While intense clashes broke out between 2010 and 2012, they died down for the most part after democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi was elected in 2015. The largest Karenni insurgent group, the Karenni Army agreed to a ceasefire deal with central government in 2012 while other main Karenni armed groups such as Karenni National People's Liberation Front and Kayan New Land Party as well as other smaller splinter groups signed ceasefire deals much earlier. Loikaw
Loikaw (, ) is the capital of Kayah State in Myanmar. It is located in the Karen Hills area, near the State's northern tip, just above an embayment on the Pilu River. The inhabitants are mostly Kayah ( Karenni). Myanmar's largest hydropower plant built (by the Japanese as war reparation) is located about east of Loikaw at Lawpita Falls. The town of Loikaw comprises 13 urban wards, namely Naungya, Daw-ukhu, Mainglon, Mingala, Dhammayon, Zaypaing, Shwetaung, Landama, Dawtanma, Dawnoeku, Shansu, and Minsu wards. Aung San Suu Kyi

Naing Htoo Aung ( my, နိုင်ထူးအောင်) is a Burmese politician who currently serves as the secretary of the Ministry of Defense of NUG. He is also the member of Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw - CRPH. He was elected as a Pyithu Hluttaw MP for Natogyi Township in both 2015 Myanmar general election and 2020 Myanmar general election. Pekon Township (also spelled Pekhon, Phekhon, Pekong, Pecong, Pékon) is a township of Taunggyi District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Pekon.
