''The Transformers: The Movie'' is a 1986 animated science fiction action film based on the ''Transformers'' television series. It was released in North America on August 8, 1986, and in the United Kingdom on December 12, 1986. It was co-produced and directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the television series. The screenplay was written by Ron Friedman, who created '' Bionic Six'' a year later. Nelson Shin
Shin Neung-kyun (born 1939), also known as Nelson Shin, is an animation director who is the founder and president of Akom Production Co., Ltd., in Seoul, South Korea. He founded Akom in 1985. Career In the 1970s, Shin worked as an animator at the DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and Marvel Productions, where he worked on the '' Pink Panther'' films and '' Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends''. Stan Bush
Stan Bush (born July 10, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter and rock musician. He is perhaps best-known for his song " The Touch", featured in the 1986 movie '' The Transformers: The Movie''. is a 1987 animated television series. It was produced by Universal Television and animated by Tokyo Movie Shinsha (now TMS Entertainment) and distributed, through first-run syndication, by MCA TV, years before the latter company became NBCUniversal Television Distribution.
