Baška () is a village and a municipality located on the southeast of the island of Krk, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. According to the 2011 census, the municipality has a population of 1,656, with 899 in Baška itself. This cultural and historical center with its old stone houses and narrow streets, has been a tourist destination since the 19th century and has developed into a popular resort. It is known for its inscribed stone monument from 1100, its many surrounding beaches, and its long tradition in tourism. Baška has a rich cultural and historical heritage. Baška () is a municipality and village in Frýdek-Místek District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,000 inhabitants. Baška (1247 ''Terra Pousa, Bosk'', ''Bayan'', 1399 ''Bosk, Bask'', 1427 ''Baask'', 1612 ''Bosko, Boska'') (; ) is a village and municipality in the Košice-okolie District of the Kosice Region in eastern Slovakia. Etymology The name comes from the Slavic languages, Slavic personal name ''Božk'', ''Božek'' or ''Božka'' (derived from ''bog'': god), the older theory proposed by Ján Stanislav is also ''Bašek''. History The village was first mentioned in 1247. During this period, it belonged to the Abov (Abó) family local branch. In 1427 it belonged to the Franks, Frank family of Šemša. Cizre () is a city in the Cizre District of Şırnak Province in Turkey. It is located on the river Tigris by the Syria–Turkey border and close to the Iraq–Turkey border. Cizre is in the historical region of Upper Mesopotamia and the cultural region of Turkish Kurdistan. The city had a population of 130,916 in 2021. It is predominantly inhabited by Kurds. Baśka is a fast-moving, Polish card game for four players played using traditional playing card#French deck, French-suited playing cards. It uses a shortened pack of just 16 cards and is similar to Kop (card game), kop which is also played in Poland. Both are derived from German Schafkopf. History Like Skat (card game), Skat and some other card games, the game is an offshoot of the German trick-taking game German Schafkopf, Schafkopf and has been played in Polish Kashubia since the 19th century. The region formerly had a large German-speaking population and both the play and terminology point to its German origins.
