Barron Falls ( Aboriginal: ''Din Din'') is a steep tiered cascade waterfall in Kuranda, Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, Australia. The falls are created by the Barron River descending from the Atherton Tablelands to the Cairns coastal plain. In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, the Barron Falls was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a "natural attraction". Barron County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,711. Its county seat is Barron. The county was created in 1859 and organized in 1874. History The county was created in 1859 as Dallas County (named after Vice President George M. Dallas), with the county seat located at Barron. It was renamed Barron County on March 4, 1869. The county's name honors Wisconsin lawyer and politician Henry D. Barron, who served as circuit judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Barron County was organized in 1874. Barron Plan
The Barron Plan was an Anglo-Portuguese plan for military infrastructure developed after World War II, to provide coastal defences for the Portuguese capital of Lisbon and the major port of Setúbal. These defences were installed between 1948 and 1958, involving fixed batteries along the banks of the Tagus and Sado (river), Sado rivers and on the Atlantic Ocean side of the Setúbal peninsula. The batteries were manned by the Coastal Artillery Regiment (RAC). The Barron Library is a historic building located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Formerly a public library, it is now the Barron Arts Center. The building was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1976. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 11, 1977, for its significance in architecture and education. With History and description Thomas Barron (1790–1875) funded the construction of the building in his will. It would become the first free public library in Middlesex County. The brownstone building was designed by architect J. Cleaveland Cady in the Richardsonian Romanesque style and features a three-story clock tower. Barron Stadium is a 6,500-seat football field and track & field stadium in Rome, Georgia. It is home to the Shorter University Hawks and Rome High School Wolves football teams. The facility hosted the NAIA Football National Championship from 2008–13 and the NCCAA Victory Bowl in 2013-14, as well as the NCCAA track championships from 2014-16. Barron Stadium is owned by the Rome- Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority (RFPRA), a city-county partnership, and has been operated by the Rome City School District since 2015. Barron is a show jumping horse. Ridden by Lucy Davis, he won team medals at the 2014 World Equestrian Games (bronze), and at the 2016 Summer Olympics (silver). Life and career Barron is a chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding foaled in 2004, sired by For Pleasure and out of Vita van het Reithof. He was purchased for American show jumping rider Lucy Davis in 2013. Barron was originally named Underground des Hauts Droits, but was renamed for Davis' grandfather, Robert Barron Frieze, a jockey's agent. In an interview, Davis described Barron as a good horse but said that he could be flighty, and noted that he wears earplugs while in competition because he does not like crowd noise.
