Barhi, Hazaribagh
Barhi is a census town and headquarters of a subdivision in the Barhi CD block in the Barhi subdivision of the Hazaribagh district in the state of Jharkhand, India. It stands at the crossing of NH 19 (old number NH 2)/ Grand Trunk Road and NH 20.The Sub-Divisional Officer of Barhi is Hon'ble Shri. Johan Tudu. All major buses on the Ranchi-Patna, Ranchi-Gaya,Barhi-Ranchi, Dhanbad-Patna and Dhanbad-Gaya routes pass through Barhi. Both Tilaiya Dam of DVC and Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary are near Barhi. History Barhi was once a subdivisional town (up to 1872). There is a small cemetery on Grand Trunk Road, with a grave of Col Knyvett, Commander of Grand Trunk Road. He died in 1857. National Highway 19 (India)
National Highway 19 (NH 19) is a national highway in India. It was previously referred to as Delhi–Kolkata Road and is one of the busiest national highways in India. After renumbering of national highways, Delhi to Agra route is now national highway 44 and Agra to Kolkata route is numbered national highway 19. It constitutes a major portion of the historical Grand Trunk Road. It is also part of AH1 of Asian Highway Network, that traverses from Japan to Turkey. Ichak

John Wardle Houlton
Sir John Wardle Houlton was a British civil servant in the Foreign Office who emigrated to Swaziland and served as the President of the Senate from 1967 to 1973. Houlton was born in 1892. His family was from Middlesex and he was educated at the Perse School, and Christ's College, Cambridge. He worked in the Indian Civil Service, in the government of Bihar, from 1933. Houlton emigrated to South Africa in 1950, and then to Swaziland, where he was made a legal secretary. In 1965, he became speaker of the Legislative Council of Swaziland, and two years later he became Speaker of the Senate. He retired from that position in May 1973. Houlton was the author of ''Bihar, the Heart of India'' (1949). Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary
Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Jharkhand, India, about north of Ranchi. It was established in 1955. It is home to many wild animals including deer, monkey and birds. History The Hazaribagh wildlife sanctuary was established in 1955. It was unofficially called as Hazaribag National Park from 1955 to 1976. It was a private hunting reserve of kings of Ramgarh. Rajderwa was private hunting lodge of kings which includes a enclosure of wild boar, barking deer and nilgai.
