Barclay (record Label)
Barclay is a French Universal Music Group record label, originally owned by Eddie Barclay in 1953. Barclay previously established Riviera-LM Records in 1951. Eddie was a bandleader, pianist, producer and nightclub owner. With his wife and vocalist, Nicole, he started a record company. It published the work of Stéphane Grappelli, Lionel Hampton and Rhoda Scott, among others. In 1978, he sold 40% to PolyGram Records. Jazz issues ceased in 1983. Noir Désir
Noir Désir (, ) was a French rock band from Bordeaux that formed in 1980. Their most consistent lineup featured Bertrand Cantat (vocals, guitar), Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitar), Frédéric Vidalenc (bass guitar) and Denis Barthe (drums). Jean-Paul Roy became the band's bassist in 1996 after Vidalenc's departure. They released six albums, two of which were certified double platinum in France and three which were certified gold. They have been an influence on numerous French musicians including Cali, Louise Attaque and Miossec. Their most popular song, " Le vent nous portera" (2001), reached number one in Italy and number three in France. Modjo was a French house music duo formed in Paris in 1999 by producer Romain Tranchart (born 9 June 1976) and singer Yann Destagnol (born 14 July 1978). They are best known for their biggest hit, " Lady (Hear Me Tonight)", released in 2000, along with other successful singles such as " Chillin'" and " No More Tears", both released in 2001. Eddy Mitchell
Claude Moine (; born 3 July 1942), known professionally as Eddy Mitchell, is a French singer and actor. He began his career in the late 1950s, with the group Les Chaussettes Noires (The Black Socks). He took the name ''Eddy'' from the American expatriate tough-guy actor Eddie Constantine (later the star of Jean-Luc Godard's '' Alphaville''), and chose ''Mitchell'' as his last name simply because it sounds American. The band performed at the Parisian nightclub Golf-Drouot before signing to Barclay Records and finding almost instant success; in 1961 it sold two million records. Danielle Licari (born Danielle Cuvillier on 30 November 1936, in Boulogne-sur-Mer) is a French singer who was active in the 1960s and 1970s. She's now remembered primarily as the vocalist in Concerto pour une Voix. Career In 1964, she dubbed the singing in the movie '' The Umbrellas of Cherbourg'' for the role of Geneviève Émery, played by Catherine Deneuve.
