Anton Banko (August 26, 1927 – May 16, 1986) was a Slovenian inventor and engineer who is best known for designing the first phacoemulsifier. On April 27, 2023, Banko Brown, a homeless 24-year-old transgender Black man, was shot and killed outside of a Walgreens store in San Francisco by an on-duty security guard.
