Bagrat ( ka, ბაგრატი) was a Georgian royal prince (''batonishvili'') of the Bagrationi dynasty. Son of King Constantine I of Georgia. Bagrat whose revolt against his reigning brother Alexander I of Georgia is recorded in the 18th-century continuation of the Georgian chronicles, but unattested elsewhere. Bagrationi Dynasty
The Bagrationi dynasty (; ) is a royal family, royal dynasty which reigned in Georgia (country), Georgia from the Middle Ages until the early 19th century, being among the oldest extant Christianity, Christian ruling dynasties in the world. In modern usage, the name of the dynasty is sometimes Hellenization, Hellenized and referred to as the Georgian Bagratids, also known in English as the Bagrations. Alexander I the Great (, ''Aleksandre I Didi'') (1386 – between August 26, 1445 and March 7, 1446), of the Bagrationi house, was king ('' mepe'') of Georgia from 1412 to 1442. Despite his efforts to restore the country from the ruins left by the Turkomans warlords and Timur's invasions, Georgia never recovered and faced the inevitable fragmentation that was followed by a long period of stagnation. Alexander was the last ruler of a united Georgia which was relatively free from foreign domination. In 1442, he abdicated the throne and retired to a monastery. Cyril Leo Toumanoff ( ka, კირილ თუმანოვი; ; 10 October 1913 – 4 February 1997) was a Georgian-American historian, and academic genealogist who mostly specialized in the history and genealogies of medieval Georgia, Armenia, Iran, and the Byzantine Empire. George VIII Of Georgia
George VIII ( ka, გიორგი VIII, tr; 1417–1476) of the Bagrationi dynasty, was ''de facto'' last List of monarchs of Georgia, king (''mepe'') of the formerly united Kingdom of Georgia from 1446 to 1465. The Kingdom of Kakheti ( ka, კახეთის სამეფო, tr; also spelled ''Kaxet'i'' or ''Kakhetia'') was a late medieval and early modern monarchy in eastern Georgia, centered at the province of Kakheti, with its capital first at Gremi and then at Telavi.
