Bad Things (band)
Bad Things is an American electronic rock band originally composed of former singer Davis LeDuke, bassist and former Augustana member Jared Palomar, guitarist Anthony Sanudo, former drummer-vocalist Lena Zawaideh, and guitarist (Olympic medallist) Shaun White. Bad Things signed to Warner Bros. Records in the summer of 2013. Their LP, produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith), features the lead single "Anybody" released on August 13, 2013. Bad Things' self-titled debut album was released on January 21, 2014, via Warner Bros. Records. Beck David Hansen (born Bek David Campbell; July 8, 1970) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame in the early 1990s with his experimental and lo-fi style, and became known for creating musical collages of wide-ranging genres. He has musically encompassed folk, funk, soul, hip hop, electronic, alternative rock, country, and psychedelia. Lollapalooza (Lolla) is an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park in Chicago. Death Grips is an American experimental hip hop group formed in 2010 in Sacramento, California. We Are Scientists is a New York City-based rock band that formed in Berkeley, California, in 1999. Steven Paul Smith (August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003), known professionally as Elliott Smith, was an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and lived much of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he gained popularity. Smith's primary instrument was the guitar, though he also played piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. He had a distinctive vocal style, characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery", and often used multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies. Rob Schnapf
Rob Schnapf is an American record producer and musician. He was the co-producer (along with Tom Rothrock) of Elliott Smith's albums ''Either/Or'', '' XO'' (on which he also played guitar on the song "Baby Britain"), '' Figure 8'' and '' From a Basement on the Hill'', for which he was recruited by Smith's family to complete after Smith's death. Schnapf runs the Mant Sounds studio. Background Schnapf, along with Rothrock and partner Bradshaw Lambert, started Bong Load Custom Records in the early 1990s which is notable for releasing Beck's "Loser" single. Schnapf first heard Beck as he was playing on the street during the annual Sunset Junction Fair. A week later Rothrock saw Beck jump onstage to play in between bands during a show at Jabberjaw and approached him afterwards about recording his songs.
