''Bad Since '97'' is the second studio extended play by Nigerian singer-songwriter BNXN, formerly known as Buju. It was released on 26 August 2022 by TYE and distributed by Empire Distribution. The EP features guest appearances from Wizkid, Olamide and Wande Coal and combines elements from R&B, Afro Fusion, Afrobeats, and Afropop with Neo-soul percussive rhythms. ''Bad Since '97'' received favourable reviews from critics, and topped charts In UK, US, Netherlands, and other countries. Critical reception In a review for ''OkayAfrica'', they wrote that "The project highlights BNXN's adaptability, lyrical intelligence, and development as a whole. Daniel Benson (born 14 May 1997), known professionally as Bnxn (pronounced as Benson) and formerly known as Buju, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and record producer. Early life He was born in Lagos. He hails from Akwa Ibom state. He was previously signed to Burna Boy's Spaceship Records, He grew up in Gbagada with his family, relocating to Ogun State. Julian Nicco-Annan (born 25 October 1985), better known by his stage name Juls, is a British-Ghanaian record producer, disc jockey, and musician. Afrobeats (not to be confused with Afrobeat or Afroswing), or Afro-pop or Afro-fusion (or Afropop or Afrofusion), is an umbrella term to describe popular music from West Africa and the diaspora that initially developed in Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK in the 2000s and 2010s.
