Babysitting is temporarily caring for a child. Babysitting can be a paid job for all ages; however, it is best known as a temporary activity for early teenagers who are not yet eligible for employment in the general economy. It provides autonomy from parental control and dispensable income, as well as an introduction to the techniques of childcare. It emerged as a social role for teenagers in the 1920s, and became especially important in suburban America in the 1950s and 1960s, when there was an abundance of small children. The Oakland County Child Killer (OCCK) is the name given to the perpetrator(s) responsible for the serial killings of at least four children in Oakland County, Michigan, United States, between 1976 and 1977. The Baby Sitters was a music group that recorded four albums of children's Folk music, folk songs from 1958 until 1968. Its original members were ex-The Weavers, Weaver Lee Hays as composer, Doris Willens, Doris Willens Kaplan as lyricist, actor Alan Arkin on guitar, and his wife Jeremy Yaffe Arkin. In 1964, Jeremy was replaced by Barbara Dana, Arkin's second wife, and Arkin's eight-year-old son Adam Arkin, Adam was featured on a few songs. All of the Kaplan and Arkin boys participated.
