Baby, I'm Back
''Baby, I'm Back'' (stylized onscreen as ''Baby... I'm Back!'') is an American sitcom television series that aired on CBS in early 1978. The series stars Demond Wilson, Denise Nicholas, Helen Martin and Kim Fields. Synopsis Raymond Ellis is a compulsive gambler who abandoned his family (wife Olivia, son Jordan and daughter Angie) and headed to California. Seven years later while in California, Ray finds out that his wife plans to remarry to Colonel Wallace Dickey, and that he has been declared legally dead. This prompts him to move back to Washington, D.C., where he tries to win back Olivia by proving he is a better husband, and a better father to his kids, and to prove that he is still alive. However, he now has to contend with his mother-in-law Luzelle and Olivia's soon-to-be husband Colonel Wallace Dickey. Production The pilot was videotaped in September 1977. Lila Garrett
Lila Garrett (November 21, 1925 – February 1, 2020) was an American television screenwriter and radio host who wrote for the sitcoms '' The Second Hundred Years'' (co-wrote episodes 10 and 13 with Bernie Kahn), ''My Favorite Martian'', ''All in the Family'', and ''Bewitched''. She co-wrote with Bernie Kahn and Stu Billett the 1971 Disney TV movie ''The Barefoot Executive''. An anti-war activist, Garrett's political engagement includes founding Americans Against War with Iraq, serving as a DNC delegate for presidential candidate Michael Dukakis, presiding as President over the Southern California chapter of the Americans for Democratic Action and becoming a founding member of Progressive Democrats of America. ''Jet'' is an American weekly digital magazine focusing on news, culture, and entertainment related to the African-American community. Founded in November 1951 by John H. Johnson of the Johnson Publishing Company in Chicago, Illinois, the magazine was billed as "The Weekly Negro News Magazine". Asaad Kelada ( ar, أسعد قلادة; born May 11, 1940) is an American television director of many American television sitcoms. Early life Kelada was born in Cairo, Egypt and he studied drama under Youssef Chahine at the American University in Cairo. In 1961, he immigrated to the United States and studied directing at the Yale School of Drama. Career After directing stage plays and teaching drama in the 1960s and 1970s, he received his first opportunity directing television in 1976 with an episode of the sitcom ''Rhoda'', "Rhoda Questions Her Life and Flies to Paris". Bill Persky
Bill Persky (born September 9, 1931) is an American television director, screenwriter, and producer. Biography Persky was born to a Jewish family, the son of an estate auctioneer. His father would travel between various resort towns where the wealthy lived to conduct estate auctions. He has one older sister, Bunny Persky Grossinger, and attended Ramble Elementary School in Hot Springs, Arkansas. During the summers, he worked as a lifeguard in the Borscht Belt in the Catskill Mountains. He attended Syracuse University, where he studied advertising, and after school went to work for an advertising agency in New York City. He then took a job at WNEW where he met Sam Denoff where they wrote jokes for the DJs out of fun which soon morphed into part of their job tasks.
