BR-392 (Brazil Highway)
BR-392 is a federal highway in Rio Grande do Sul. The highway begins at the port town of Rio Grande in the south and runs north across the state, connecting the municipalities of Pelotas, Santa Maria, Santo Ângelo, and ending in Porto Xavier at the border with Argentina. Santa Maria is a municipality (''município'') in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil. In 2020, its population was 283,677 inhabitants in a total area of . Santa Maria is the 5th biggest municipality in the state, and the largest in its micro-region. Rio Grande, Rio Grande Do Sul
Rio Grande () is a municipality (''município'') and one of the oldest cities in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It was the state capital from 1835 to 1845. It is the most important port city in the state and has one of the most important maritime ports in Brazil. The city is named after a nearby channel which indirectly connects the Lagoa dos Patos, to the northeast, and Lagoa Mirim, to the west, with the Atlantic Ocean. The municipality is bordered by Santa Vitória do Palmar on the south and Pelotas on the north, which lies across the São Gonçalo Channel. The city built up its wealth over the course of its long history of strong industrial movements. Porto Xavier
Porto Xavier is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, situated on the Uruguay River, bordering San Javier, Argentina. The municipality would be partially flooded by the proposed Garabí Dam. The origin of the name The name "Porto Xavier" originated from the combination of the term "porto" ("port"), due to its location as a river port on the Uruguay River, with the name of the Jesuit reduction of San Javier, which once stood on the opposite bank of the river, in what is now Argentine territory. The settlement developed from these roots, eventually becoming a municipality with its current name in 1966. Geography Porto Xavier covers an area of 281.497 km². Santo Ângelo
Santo Ângelo is a municipality located in northwestern Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. It has about 77,568 inhabitants (according to 2020 IBGE estimate) and the total area of the municipality is about 679 km2. It borders Giruá to the north, and Entre-Ijuís to the south—it is linked to Santo Ângelo by the state road RS 344. The city is located 443 km (275 mi) from the state capital, Porto Alegre.
