BR-285 (Brazil Highway)
BR-285 is an east-west Brazilian federal highway that starts in Araranguá, Santa Catarina, and crosses the Gaucho range and highlands. It stretches approximately 674.5 km, passing through cities such as Vacaria, Lagoa Vermelha, Passo Fundo, Carazinho, Ijuí e São Luiz Gonzaga, and ends in São Borja, Rio Grande do Sul, on the border of Argentina. During the summer months, BR-285 receives a large flow of vehicles from Argentina, heading for the beaches of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The journey is between São Borja (border with Argentina) and Vacaria. From there, drivers who decide to spend the summer on the riograndense beaches descend to Caxias do Sul to take the Rota do Sol to Terra de Areia. Another alternative is to ascend to Lages, already in the state of Santa Catarina, and from there continue to Florianópolis. Araranguá
Araranguá is a city located in the southern part of Santa Catarina state, in the south of Brazil. It has 68,867 inhabitants and was settled mainly by Portuguese and Italians. Araranguá is known as "A Cidade das Avenidas" ("''The City of the Avenues''") because of its wide roads. History Until the 18th century, the city was inhabited mostly by Carijós and Kaingang Indians. BR-158
BR-158 is a federal highway of Brazil. One of the longest highways in the country, the road connects Altamira, Pará, to Santana do Livramento on the Uruguayan border where it joins Route 5 (Uruguay). In the original planning of the Ministry of Transportation, its starting point should be located between highways BR-230 and PA-415 in the municipality of Altamira in the state of Pará. However, this link with Altamira was never built; With that, the highway itself only begins even in Redenção, in the south of the state. The BR-287 is a 536.9 km-long ''federal highway'' across the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, also known as the Highway of Integration. It starts in the Region of Porto Alegre, traverses the Center Eastern and Central West, and ends in the Southwest region.
