BEST Academy High School
The B.E.S.T. Academy is a Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, STEM certified all-boys school serving grade 6-12 students in Carey Park, Atlanta, Carey Park, Atlanta, Georgia. The school was opened in 2007, and for a short time was referred to as the boys single gender academy, but was later named by its first principal, Curt R. Green, in honor of neurosurgeon Ben Carson. B.E.S.T. is an acronym for Business, Engineering, Science, and Technology. Carey Park is a neighborhood on the Upper Westside of Atlanta with a population of 1,739. It is bordered by: * Scotts Crossing on the north * Almond Park on the east * Hill Street and the Center Hill neighborhood on the south * James Jackson Parkway and the neighborhoods of Brookview Heights (including the former site of Bowen Homes) and Monroe Heights together formerly known as thWatts Roadneighborhood, on the west.
