This is a list of characters in the ''Transformers'' Generation 1 comics series. Non-Transformer characters A * Aunty - The Autobots computer on board the Ark. B * Walter Barnett - US government official and friend of the Autobots. Originally suspicious of the Autobots, Barnett became convinced they were friendly after seeing they chose not to fight back when attacked by humans. Barnett saved the lives of the Throttlebots by transferring their "brains" to toy cars before their bodies were destroyed. * Berko - Originally a homeless man, abducted into the Cosmic Carnival. Eventually becomes the Cosmic Carnival's ringmaster. * B'ghdad - Crime lord. He appears in a Matrix Quest story based on the film '' The Maltese Falcon''. * Big Top - Owner of the Cosmic Carnival. * G. B. Blackrock - Millionaire and friend of the Autobots. Matrix Quest
The Matrix Quest is the official collective name for issues #62 through #66 in Marvel's ''Transformers'' comics, written by UK writer Simon Furman. Each chapter of the story pays homage to a classic movie or book. Each issue of Matrix Quest was presented with its own symbol on the cover, with a number signifying the episode in the series. However, it was part of the main plot and not a separate mini-comic. The series was reprinted by Marvel UK in issues #262-264 & #282-297 and collected as a trade paperback in 2002. The story The Matrix Quest began when Primus, the Transformers' god and core of their homeworld, Cybertron was reawakened, alerting his nemesis, Unicron to his location. Optimus Prime, the Autobot leader, had deduced that the only thing capable of stopping Unicron was the Creation Matrix, which he had once carried inside his body. Transformers (comics)
There have been three main publishers of the comic book series bearing the name ''Transformers'' based on the toy lines of the same name. The first series was produced by Marvel Comics from 1984 to 1991, which ran for 80 issues and produced four spin-off miniseries. This was followed by a second volume titled ''Transformers: Generation 2'', which ran for 12 issues starting in 1993. The second major series was produced by Dreamwave Productions from 2002 to 2004 with multiple limited series as well, and within multiple story continuities, until the company became bankrupt in 2005. The third and fourth series have been published by IDW Publishing with the third series starting with an issue #0 in October 2005 and a regular series starting in January 2006 to November 2018.
