Ayla (name)
Ayla is a common feminine Turkish given name. Turkish In Turkish the name Ayla is commonly said to mean " halo of light around the moon". Ayla is usually used as synonymous with "moonlight", although it could also mean "halo" in general. "Ay" means "moon" in Turkish, so "Ayla" means the "halo around the moon." "Ayla" also means "with the moon" as a word ("ay" + "la" where "la" is used for "ile" which means "with" in Turkish). However, in the context of given names, its meaning is halo, and can be related to names Aylin (also deriving from "ay"), Tülin, or Aylanur. Hebrew In Hebrew the name Ayla is commonly said to mean "terebinth tree" or "oak tree" from the words "ela/אֵלָה" and "alon/אַלּוֹן" respectively. It has also been attributed to "doe", "gazelle", or "deer" from the words "ayala/אַיָּלָה" and "ayelet/אַיֶלֶת". Homonyms Aila is a homophonous name in Finnish (equivalent of Helga or Olga) meaning "bringer of light", and in Scottish Gae ...

Ayla (Earth's Children)
Ayla is the main character of Jean Auel's '' Earth's Children'' novels, a series which started in 1980. She is a woman of unknown origins, simply referred to as one of 'the Others', though possibly a Cro-Magnon woman who was raised by Neanderthals. Her blonde hair and light blue-grey eyes, which would be a much later evolution in the homo-sapien species, suggests that she comes from a hitherto unknown species, and that her son was possibly the first Homo-Sapien (and thus Cro-Magnon). Ayla was played by Daryl Hannah as the older version and by Nicole Eggert as the younger version in the 1986 film ''The Clan of the Cave Bear''. Ayla's character has been described as an example of the "rebellious primordial" that conquers adversity with wit and will. Background Ayla is orphaned as a young Cro-Magnon child after an earthquake opens a fissure in the ground, directly underneath her and her mother's campsite, brutally taking the mother (and all of her tools and survival essentials) und ...

The Daughter Of War
''The'' is a grammatical article in English, denoting nouns that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers.
