''Axoclinus lucillae'', known commonly as the Panama triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny. They occur in the eastern Pacific in shallow rocky and coral areas as deep as from Mexico to Colombia. Henry Weed Fowler
Henry Weed Fowler (March 23, 1878 – June 21, 1965) was an American zoologist born in Holmesburg, Pennsylvania. He studied at Stanford University under David Starr Jordan. He joined the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and worked as an assistant from 1903 to 1922, associate curator of vertebrates from 1922 to 1934, curator of fish and reptiles from 1934 to 1940 and curator of fish from 1940 to 1965. He published material on numerous topics including crustaceans, birds, reptiles and amphibians, but his most important work was on fish. In 1927 he co-founded the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists and acted as treasurer until the end of 1927. Triplefin Blenny
Threefin or triplefin blennies are blenniiforms, small percomorph marine fish of the family Tripterygiidae. Found in tropical and temperate waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, the family contains about 150 species in 30 genera. The family name derives from the Greek ''tripteros'' meaning "with three wings". With an elongated, typical blenny form, threefin blennies differ from their relatives by having a dorsal fin separated into three parts (hence the name); the first two are spinous. The small, slender pelvic fins are located underneath the throat and possess a single spine; the large anal fin may have one or two spines. The pectoral fins are greatly enlarged, and the tail fin is rounded. George Washington Vanderbilt III
George Washington Vanderbilt III (September 23, 1914 – June 24, 1961) was an American yachtsman and scientific explorer who was a member of the prominent Vanderbilt family. Early life Born in Newport, Rhode Island, he was the younger son of Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt and Margaret Emerson. He was the brother of Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt Jr. and a half-brother to William Henry Vanderbilt III from his father's first marriage to Ellen "Elsie" French. In 1915, when George was less than a year old, his father perished in the sinking of the RMS ''Lusitania''. His inheritance was estimated as high as . ''Axoclinus'' is a genus of Threefin blenny, triplefins in the family (biology), family Tripterygiidae. This genus has six described species. It is restricted to the eastern tropical Pacific. The genus is characterised by having ctenoid scales, a lateral line which shows pored scales towards the head and notched scales towards the tail, the pelvic fins have two separated rays and the anal fin also has two spines and the possession of vomerine teeth but no palatine teeth.
