Ave Maria
The Hail Mary or Ave Maria (from its first words in Latin), also known as the Angelic or Angelical Salutation, is a traditional Catholic prayer addressing Mary, mother of Jesus, Mary, the mother of Jesus. The prayer is based on two biblical passages featured in the Gospel of Luke: the Angel Gabriel's visit to Mary (the Annunciation) and Mary's subsequent visit to Elizabeth (biblical figure), Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist (the Visitation (Christianity), Visitation). It is also called the Angelical Salutation, as the prayer is based on the Archangel Gabriel's words to Mary. The Hail Mary is a prayer of praise for and of petition to Mary, regarded as the Theotokos (Mother of God). Since the 16th century, the version of the prayer used in the Catholic Church closes with an appeal for her Intercession of saints, intercession. The prayer takes different forms in various traditions and has often been set to music. In the Latin Church, the Hail Mary forms the basis of other ...

Ave Maria (Beyoncé Song)
"Ave Maria" is a song by American singer Beyoncé from her third studio album '' I Am... Sasha Fierce'' (2008). Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench and Makeba Riddick wrote the song in collaboration with Beyoncé and production duo Stargate. As stated by Ghost, "Ave Maria" was inspired by Beyoncés and her own respective marriages. The song is a re-write of Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria". It is instrumentally complete with a piano and strings. Throughout the pop- R&B ballad, Beyoncé sings in a lower register with an operatic soprano. Lyrically, it speaks about being surrounded by friends but still feeling alone. Critical reception towards the song was mixed. Many contemporary critics praised its balladry and Beyoncés vocals while others dubbed it as merely a normal take on the original. Following the release of ''I Am... Sasha Fierce'', "Ave Maria" debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number 150 on November 29, 2008, based on downloads alone. The song was a part Beyoncé's set list during ...

Faces (mixtape)
''Faces'' is the eleventh mixtape by American rapper Mac Miller. It was independently released for free download on May 11, 2014. The mixtape is the follow-up to Miller's second studio album '' Watching Movies with the Sound Off'' (2013), and is considered by many to be his magnum opus for its dark and personal exploration of Miller's struggle with drug addiction and mental illness. On October 15, 2021, ''Faces'' was commercially released on streaming platforms and vinyl. Miller produced most of ''Faces'' himself and moved towards creating more psychedelic and jazzy instrumentals for his increasingly dark lyrical themes. Its jazziness is not a departure from Miller's previous work, as it echoes the project he released under the alias Larry Lovestein titled ''You'' that was also centered around jazz instrumentals. It continues to build upon and experiment with the psychedelic sounds of ''Watching Movies with the Sound Off.'' The mixtape features guest appearances from Rick Ross, Ear ...

Any kind of music able to convey some Truth about existence should be regarded as “sacred”. It is neither a matter of sound nor of musical instrument. It is not a genre, but an attitude: whether it is symphonic or indie music, if there is some inner truth in it, a profound expressive intensity, then there’s sacredness. Ave Maria (Vavilov)
"Ave Maria" is an aria composed by Vladimir Vavilov around 1970 and often misattributed to Italian composer Giulio Caccini. Vavilov published and recorded it himself in 1970 on the Melodiya label with the ascription "Anonymous". It is believed that organist Mark Shakhin, one of the performers on the original LP, first ascribed the work to Caccini after Vavilov's death, and gave the "newly-discovered" scores to other musicians. The organist then made an arrangement of the aria for a recording by Irina Arkhipova in 1987, after which the piece came to be famous worldwide. Ave Maria (Stravinsky)
''Ave Maria'' (originally published using the Slavonic title ''Bogoroditse D'vo'') is a short motet for SATB chorus by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. Composition Stravinsky, though in his later years came to be a practicing member of the Russian Orthodox Church, showed little interest in his own religious and spiritual research in his early adult years and only returned to the fold in 1926, after sixteen years outside the Communion, when he started attending religious services held by Russian emigrants living in Paris. It was at this time that Stravinsky started composing short pieces for unaccompanied chorus based on Orthodox texts. ''Ave Maria'' was the last of the three pieces to have survived during this period, the other two being ''Otche Nash'' (1926) and ''Credo'' (1932). The original manuscript by Stravinsky was then kept by fellow musician Nadia Boulanger, who later claimed ''Ave Maria'' was one of her favorite pieces to conduct, possibly because of its accessibility. ...

Mascagni heard about the competition only two months before the closing da ...
