Australian Cricket Team In Sri Lanka In 2024–25
The Australia cricket team toured Sri Lanka in January and February 2025 to play the Sri Lanka cricket team. The tour consisted of two Tests and two One Day International (ODI) matches. The Test series, where the teams contested for the Warne–Muralitharan Trophy, formed part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. The ODI series served as part of Australia's preparation for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025. In November 2024, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the fixtures for the tour. Australia had last toured Sri Lanka in 2022. Initially, the tour included only one ODI match. Later, the schedule was revised by SLC to include two ODI matches. 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship
The 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship was the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship. It started in June 2023 with the Ashes, which was contested between England and Australia, and finished in June 2025 with the final played between Australia and South Africa at Lord's. In the final, South Africa defeated Australia by 5 wickets to win their maiden championship. This was also their second ICC trophy after 1998. Format The tournament consisted of 69 matches played between nine teams across 27 series in the league stage. The top two teams in the points table at the end of the league stage competed at the final at Lord's, London. Dinesh Chandimal
Lokuge Dinesh Chandimal (; born 18 November 1989) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. A handy right-handed middle order batter who sometimes plays as the wicket-keeper, Chandimal lead Sri Lanka in the group stages of the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 in which Sri Lanka ended up as the champions. Galle (, ; , ) (formerly ) is a major city on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, south of Colombo. Galle International Stadium (, ) is a cricket stadium in Galle, Sri Lanka, situated near Galle Fort and fringed on two sides by the Indian Ocean. It is considered to be one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world. The Australian cricket team toured Sri Lanka in June and July 2022 to play two Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20Is) matches.
