Auckland Girls' Grammar School
Auckland Girls' Grammar School (AGGS) is a New Zealand secondary school for girls located in Newton, New Zealand, Newton, Auckland. Established in 1878 as Auckland Girls' High School, it is one of the oldest secondary institutions in the country. The school closed its site temporarily in 1888 due to financial difficulties and classes for girls were held at Auckland Grammar School until the girls' school moved to new premises in Howe Street in 1909 and the name of the school changed to Auckland Girls' Grammar School. The school received the Goodman Fielder awards for School and Secondary School of the year in 2000. Dorothy Butler
Muriel Dorothy Butler (née Norgrove, 24 April 1925 – 20 September 2015) was a New Zealand children's book author, bookseller, memoirist and reading advocate. She was a recipient of the Eleanor Farjeon Award. Personal life Butler was born in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn on 24 April 1925, the daughter of William Victor Norgrove and his wife Emily Isobel Norgrove (née Brown). She was educated at Auckland Girls' Grammar School, before studying at Auckland University College, from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1947. She became engaged to her future husband, Roy Edward Butler, in August 1945, and they were married in 1947. They went on to have eight children together, six daughters and two sons. Katrina Rore (née Grant; born 6 May 1987 in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand international netball player. Rore is a previous captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and plays for the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship. Rore signed to the New South Wales Swifts in the Suncorp Super Netball league in the latter half of the 2018–2019 season following the Netball World Cup. Golriz Ghahraman (; born 1981) is a New Zealand former politician, lawyer and writer. The former United Nations lawyer was a child asylum seeker, and became the first refugee elected to New Zealand Parliament, New Zealand's Parliament. Lana Coc-Kroft (born 1967) is a New Zealand actress and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 1988 and represented her country at Miss Universe 1988. Coc-Kroft began her television career appearing in ''Sale of the Century'', and in 1991 on the New Zealand version of '' Wheel of Fortune'' as the co-host with Phillip Leishman, later Simon Barnett. She continued in this role until the show ended in 1996. Kayla Malvina Johnson (née Cullen, born 13 February 1992) is a New Zealand netball player. As a high school student, Cullen played representative netball and basketball, and competed at a national level in athletics. In 2008, she was selected in the New Zealand U21 netball team, and was a member of the side that finished second at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships, behind Australia.
