Attention Is All You Need
"Attention Is All You Need" is a 2017 landmark Academic publishing, research paper in machine learning authored by eight scientists working at Google. The paper introduced a new deep learning architecture known as the Transformer (machine learning model), transformer, based on the attention mechanism proposed in 2014 by Bahdanau et al. It is considered a foundational paper in modern artificial intelligence, as the transformer approach has become the main architecture of large language models like those based on Generative pre-trained transformer, GPT. At the time, the focus of the research was on improving Seq2seq techniques for machine translation, but the authors go further in the paper, foreseeing the technique's potential for other tasks like question answering and what is now known as Generative artificial intelligence#Modalities, multimodal Generative AI. All You Need Is Love
"All You Need Is Love" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in July 1967. It was written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The song was Britain's contribution to ''Our World (International TV special), Our World'', the first live global television link, for which the band were filmed performing it at Abbey Road Studios, EMI Studios in London on 25 June. The programme was broadcast via satellite and seen by an audience of over 400 million in 25 countries. Lennon's lyrics were deliberately simplistic, to allow for the show's international audience, and captured the utopian ideals associated with the Summer of Love. Learning Rate
In machine learning and statistics, the learning rate is a Hyperparameter (machine learning), tuning parameter in an Mathematical optimization, optimization algorithm that determines the step size at each iteration while moving toward a minimum of a loss function. Since it influences to what extent newly acquired information overrides old information, it metaphorically represents the speed at which a machine learning model "learns". In the adaptive control literature, the learning rate is commonly referred to as gain. In setting a learning rate, there is a trade-off between the rate of convergence and overshooting. While the descent direction is usually determined from the Gradient descent, gradient of the loss function, the learning rate determines how big a step is taken in that direction.
