Atlantic Station (Los Angeles Metro)
Atlantic station is an at grade light rail station on the E Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located at the intersection of Atlantic and Pomona Boulevards in East Los Angeles. This station opened on November 15, 2009, as part of the Gold Line Eastside Extension and currently serves as the eastern terminus of the E Line. The station is expected to be relocated to accommodate service for the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 by 2035. A 268-space parking structure for this station opened on April 22, 2010, joining a 21-space parking lot. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. The Eastside Transit Corridor is a light rail line extension that currently connects Downtown Los Angeles with East Los Angeles. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange.
