Ormewood Park
Ormewood Park is a neighborhood on the east side of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. History This area was the territory of the Creek Indian Nation until approximately 1825 when the Treaty of Indian Springs was signed under Governor George Troup. He then began forcing the Creek from their lands and by 1827, they were all gone. Any white settler could enter a land lottery for the cost of $4.00, and 160 or parcels were awarded. Most of these lots were working farms until the late 19th century. In 1892, some of the farms were further subdivided into building lots of approximately in size. The Confederate Soldiers' Home was constructed on what is now the area occupied by the complex of Georgia National Guard and other State buildings on United Avenue. Edgewood (Atlanta)
Edgewood is a neighborhood located on the east side of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, located approximately east of downtown Atlanta. History Originally called Hardeville, after the area's largest landowner, William J. Hardee. The area became popular when a train depot for the Georgia Railroad, was built near Clifton Rd and Dekalb Ave. The name Edgewood was first mentioned in 1879 by the Soles Gazette. The article goes on to describe the burgeoning town and the people who lived there. The town was that of the blue collar worker, with a large African American population, the streets lined with American Craftsman style homes contrasting the Victorian Architecture of the Kirkwood and Chandler Park neighborhoods. Copenhill
Copenhill, Copenhill Park, or Copen Hill, was a Neighborhoods of Atlanta, neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It was located largely where the Carter Center now sits, and now forms part of the Poncey-Highland neighborhood.
