Athletics At The 2020 Summer Paralympics
Para-athletics, Athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics were held in the Japan National Stadium (2019), National Stadium in Tokyo. There was 167 medal events: 93 for men, 73 for women and one mixed event. It was the largest contest of the Games programme regarding athlete numbers and medal events to be scheduled. The 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They kept the 2020 name and were instead held from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Rosa María Guerrero Cazares (born 30 November 1984) is a Mexican Paralympic athlete who competes in discus throw and shot put events in international level events. Career For a long time she played soccer, but in 2010, due to a health problem, she was immobilized from the waist down and started playing basketball in a wheelchair. Shortly thereafter, the national athletics coach invited her to train at the CONADE's Mexican Paralympic Committee Center. Tang Hongxia (; born August 18, 1976) is a Paralympian athlete from China competing mainly in category F12‒F13 shot put events. She competed in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. Lisa Banta
Lisa Czechowski (née Banta, born May 29, 1979, in New Jersey) is an American goalball player. Her Paralympic debut won her a silver medal for discus at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games; she also competed in goalball at those games. In December 2001 she took part in the torch relay for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Czechowski and teammate Asya Miller competed in their sixth Paralympics together at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Sarah Edmiston (born 8 September 1975) is an Australian Paralympic athlete who specialises in the discus and shot put.
