Assumption University (Thaiมหาวิทยาลัยอัสสัมชัญ RTGS: Mahawitthayalai Assumption, abbreviated ABAC) also referred to by its acronym AU is a private, Catholic, research higher education institution in Bangkok, Thailand. It is also the first international private, non-profit Catholic university in Thailand. Following the spirit of Rev. Fr. Emile Genest August Colombet (The founder of the third oldest school in Thailand, Assumption College), Bro. Bernard Mary, Principal of ACC, initiated a private college, so called ASB in 1969 and subsequently, the Brothers of St. Gabriel in Thailand developed and transformed the school to Assumption School of Business, the english program-intensive business school.
