Advanced statistics, also known as analytics or APBRmetrics, in basketball refers to the analysis of basketball statistics using objective evidence. APBRmetrics takes its name from the acronym APBR, which stands for the Association for Professional Basketball Research. According to ''The Sporting News'', the APBRmetrics message board was "the birthplace of basketball analytics". Network Science based basketball analytics comprise a various recent attempts to apply the perspective of networks to the analysis of basketball. Overview Traditional basketball statistics analyze individuals independently of their teammates or competitors and traditional player positions are determined by individual attributes. In contrast, these network based analytics are obtained by constructing a team or league level player networks, where individual players are nodes connected by the ball movement or by some measure of similarity. The Denver Nuggets are an American professional basketball team based in Denver. NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III (D-III) is the lowest division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that do not offer athletic scholarships to student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956. The College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country. Lawrence Dean Oliver (born February 6, 1969) is an American statistician and coach. Oliver is a prominent contributor to the advanced statistical evaluation of basketball. He is the author of ''Basketball on Paper'', the former producer of the defunct Journal of Basketball Studies.
