''Aspergillus rugulosus'' is a species of fungus in the genus ''Aspergillus''. It is from the ''Nidulantes'' section. The species was first described in 1939. It has been isolated from soil in New Jersey, United States. Benzylpenicillin, also known as penicillin G (PenG) or BENPEN, and in military slang "Peanut Butter Shot" is an antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections.
