Asif Iqbal (born 12 October) is a Bangladeshi lyricist and composer. He is one of the successful corporate personality in Bangladesh. He has been acclaimed for his multifaceted and innovative work in several renowned institutions of the country. Life and career Asif Iqbal was born at Kanchana Union under Satkania Upazila in Chittagong district. He has been writing songs for almost 30 years. He is most remembered for his film and album songs. In 2017, he was awarded Best Lyricist at 12th Channel i Music Awards. He was also selected as the best lyricist for the 7th BMJA "Music Awards - 2019" for 2019. Asif Iqbal Razvi (Urdu: آصف اقبال رضوی, born 6 June 1943) is a former Pakistani professional cricketer who captained the Pakistan national cricket team and Kent County Cricket Club. He went on to become a match referee. Born in Hyderabad, Asif Iqbal is related to former India captain Ghulam Ahmed and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. He played as an all-rounder who batted right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium pace deliveries. Asif played domestically for Hyderabad, Karachi, Kent, National Bank of Pakistan and Pakistan International Airlines. Asif Iqbal (born 24 April 1981) is a British citizen who was held in extrajudicial detention as a terror suspect in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps in Cuba from early 2002 to 9 March 2004. He is one of the Tipton Three, three friends from the same town who were captured together in Afghanistan. Their story was portrayed in the docu-drama, ''Road to Guantanamo'' (2006). Background Iqbal was born on 24 April 1981 in West Bromwich and later lived in Tipton, both of which are in the West Midlands of England. He had traveled to Pakistan in the fall of 2001 with friends Ruhal Ahmed and Shafiq Rasul, also from Tipton. The three were captured in Afghanistan by the Northern Alliance and transferred to United States military custody. Asif Iqbal (Ayodhya Bombing Suspect)
On 5 July 2005, five terrorists attacked the makeshift Ram temple at the site of destroyed Babri Mosque in Ayodhya, India. All five were shot dead in the ensuing gunfight with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), while one civilian died in the grenade attack that the attackers launched in order to breach the cordoned wall. The CRPF suffered three casualties, two of whom were seriously injured with multiple gunshot wounds.
