Ashley Messier
Ashley Messier is a Canadian ice hockey defender, currently playing for Cornell University in the NCAA. Career From 2016 to 2019, she played for the Saskatoon Stars in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League, winning the SFMAAAHL championship twice and being named the league's best defender in 2019. She was named top defender at the 2018 and 2019 Esso Cups. She then spent the 2019-20 season at Bishop Kearney High School in the United States, winning a state U19 title with the school's Selects Hockey Academy. She has committed to Cornell University for the 2020-21 season, studying in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business. Wilcox, Saskatchewan
Wilcox ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Bratt's Lake No. 129 and Census Division No. 6. It is approximately 41 kilometres (25 mi) south of the City of Regina. Wilcox is the home of the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, a boarding school for students in grades 9-12. The Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League (SFU18AAAHL), formerly the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League, is a U-18 ice hockey league in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. The league operates under the supervision of the Hockey Saskatchewan and is the highest level of female minor hockey in the province. History The league was founded in 2006 by the SHA to provide an opportunity for female hockey players to play at a more competitive level and assist them in pursuing their hockey futures. Esso Cup
The Esso Cup is the Canadian national women's under-18 ice hockey club championship, sponsored by Esso. It is an annual event, sanctioned by Hockey Canada, that takes place each April. The current champions are the Durham West Lightning, who won the 2022 Esso Cup in Okotoks, Alberta. History The forerunner to the Esso Cup was the Esso Women's Hockey Nationals, which was the Canadian senior women's championship from 1982 to 2008. With the evolution of the Nationals into a professional tournament, Hockey Canada elected to discontinue it in 2008 and replace it with a national female midget championship known as the ''Esso Cup''. Bishop Kearney High School is a Roman Catholic educational institution in Irondequoit, New York, USA, a suburb of Rochester. It is a private high school with a middle school subdivision, serving students in grades 6 through 12. Joby Messier (born March 2, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 25 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers between 1993 and 1995. Playing career Joby Messier was a member of the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) in 1987-88, playing 53 games and scoring 31 points. He also collected five points in five games during the 1988 Centennial Cup and was named a tournament All-Star. Messier enrolled at Michigan State University, following in his older brother Mitch's footsteps. He played for the Spartans for four years and was a CCHA First Team All-Star selection in his senior year in 1991-92.
