Asbury Park
Asbury Park () is a beachfront city located on the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the city's population was 15,188, a decrease of 928 (−5.8%) from the 2010 census count of 16,116, which in turn reflected a decline of 814 (−4.8%) from the 16,930 counted in the 2000 census. In 2022, Asbury Park's beach was named one of the best in the world by ''Money'' and one of the best in the country by '' Travel + Leisure''. Asbury Park was originally incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 26, 1874, from portions of Ocean Township. The borough was reincorporated on February 28, 1893. Asbury Park Station
Asbury Park is an NJ Transit railway station in Asbury Park, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is served by trains on the North Jersey Coast Line. It is located along Cookman Avenue between Main Street and Memorial Drive. The current Asbury Park station is one of two original Asbury Park stations on the line. The North Asbury Park station still exists, but is no longer a station stop; the former station was located at the Sunset Avenue crossing. History Railroad service into Asbury Park began in 1875 with the construction of an extension of the New York and Long Branch Railroad (NY&LB), a subsidiary of the Central Railroad of New Jersey and the Pennsylvania Railroad. SS Asbury Park
''Asbury Park'' was a high-speed coastal steamer built in Philadelphia, and intended to transport well-to-do persons from New York to summer homes on the New Jersey shore. This vessel was sold to West Coast interests in 1918, and later converted to an automobile ferry, serving on various routes San Francisco Bay, Puget Sound and British Columbia. This vessel was known by a number of other names, including ''City of Sacramento'', ''Kahloke'', ''Langdale Queen'', and ''Lady Grace''. Owners ''Asbury Park'' had a number of owners over the long career of the vessel. These included, among others, the Jersey Central Railroad (1903-1918) Monticello Steamship Co. USA (King Crimson Album)
''USA'' is a live album by the English progressive rock band King Crimson, released in April 1975, some seven months after this incarnation had disbanded. It was recorded at the Casino, Asbury Park, New Jersey, United States on 28 June 1974, except for “21st Century Schizoid Man”, which was recorded at the Palace Theatre, Providence, Rhode Island two days later. The live recording was performed by George Chkiantz and David Hewitt using the Record Plant Remote Truck. Violin and electric piano overdubs were added to three tracks at Olympic Studios, London in early 1975 and Chkiantz mixed the album at Olympic with Robert Fripp and John Wetton. The album opens with a brief excerpt of "The Heavenly Music Corporation" from ''(No Pussyfooting)'', an experimental album which Robert Fripp had recorded with musician and producer Brian Eno in 1972.
