Arwyn Davies (born 8 April 1967) is a Welsh actor, best known for playing the character of Mark Jones since 1993 on the long-running Welsh-language soap ''Pobol y Cwm''. Arwyn Davies's father was the Welsh comedian, actor, musician, singer, and composer Ryan Davies, who died when Arwyn was nine years old. Arwyn Randall Davies, Baron Arwyn (17 April 1897 – 23 February 1978) was a Wales, Welsh Labour Party (UK), Labour life peer. He was a Chartered Mining Engineer, businessman and company director. Marriage and family He was married to Norah Davies, with children the Honourable Elisabeth Macnab, the Honourable Mary Webb and the Honourable Hugh Davies. He married secondly Beatrix Emily Bassett (née Organ). Baron Arwyn Davies took the name of Arwyn in lieu of Davies by Deed Poll on 14 December 1964 prior to being made a peer. On 29 December 1964, he was created a life peer as Baron Arwyn, ''of Glais in the County of Glamorgan''. He was introduced to the House of Lords on 21 January 1965. Sir Arwyn Lynn Ungoed-Thomas (29 June 1904 – 4 December 1972) was a Welsh Labour Party politician and British judge. Personal life He was born on 29 June 1904, the son of Evan Ungoed-Thomas, minister of Tabernacle Welsh Baptist Church, Carmarthen, for more than forty years. He was educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (Carmarthen), Haileybury College and Magdalen College, Oxford. He married on 19 April 1933 to Dorothy, the daughter of Jasper Travers Wolfe of county Cork. They had two sons and one daughter. Ungoed-Thomas played rugby union for Leicester Tigers in 1931, featuring in eight games between January and March and scoring two tries. ''Sojourn'' is a fantasy comic book series published by CrossGen. The series follows the adventures of the archer Arwyn and her companions as they battle undead dictator Mordath. Unlike other CrossGen comics, ''Sojourn'' does not center on a Sigil-Bearer, but instead depicts a villainous Sigil-Bearer whom the heroes are tasked with defeating. It ran for 35 issues from 2001 to 2004 until it was forced to end by the bankruptcy of CrossGen. For a time, this series was Crossgen's highest grossing comic. Premise The comic takes place in the world of Quin, which comprises five lands inhabited by different races. The lands were ruled by the human dictator Mordath, who conquered Quin with an army of trolls, until he was killed in battle with the mysterious Ayden.
