Aruba National Under-20 Football Team
The Aruba National Football team (Dutch, "Arubaans voetbalelftal"; Papiamento, "Seleccion Arubano di futbol" is the official football team under 20 of Aruba and is controlled by the Arubaanse Voetbal Bond. History Road to the 2015 Championship During the 1st round of qualification they were placed in group 4 along with Grenada, and Dominica. Aruba defeated both team with 1-0 win to qualify to the final round. During the final round they were placed in group B along with Haiti, Dominican Republic and Saint Kitts and Nevis. They would beat the Dominican Republic and Saint Kitts and Nevis both with 2-1 win, unfortunately lose to Haiti with 2-1 defeat. They would get second in the group and face off against Cuba which they lost 2-1. Their goalkeeper Jean Marc Antersijn, would win the Golden Glove, and they would win the Fair Play Award. Arubaanse Voetbal Bond
The Arubaanse Voetbal Bond is the governing body of football in Aruba. Its headquarters are at Frans Figaroa sports complex in the city of Noord. It's a member of FIFA and is responsible for governing amateur and professional football, including the men's, and youth national teams. The AVB is also responsible for sanctioning referees and football tournaments for most football leagues in Aruba. Professional Leagues The Division di Honor is the first division football league in Aruba. It comprises 10 teams and is fed by Division One, and Division Two. The AVB also runs the women's football league, and Juniors for U-20 teams. Since 2005 the AVB has operated the Betico Croes Tournament Cup for men's teams in all three divisions. Jaybrien Romano (born 13 December 2004) is a Dutch footballer who plays for Aldershot Town and the Aruba national team. Club career As a youth, Romano played for the academy of FC Twente. By 2019, he had joined the under-16 side of Sparta Rotterdam. In September of that year, he scored in a 1–5 league defeat to the under-16 side of AZ Alkmaar. Romano joined the academy of Stoke City in 2022. He went on to make one appearance for the club in the Under-18 Premier League, coming on as a substitute in a 2–1 victory over Newcastle United on 1 October.
