Around The World Under The Sea
''Around the World Under the Sea'' is a 1966 science fiction film directed by Andrew Marton and starring Lloyd Bridges, with Marshall Thompson, Shirley Eaton, Gary Merrill, and David McCallum. It follows the adventures of a crew of the deep-diving nuclear-powered civilian research submarine ''Hydronaut'' making a submerged circumnavigation of the world to plant monitoring sensors on the ocean floor that will help scientists better predict impending earthquakes. Although Jules Verne is not credited by the filmmakers, his influence can be seen throughout the film. Frank McCarthy (March 30, 1924 – November 17, 2002) was an American artist and Realism (visual arts), realist Painting, painter known for advertisements, magazine artwork, paperback covers, film posters, and paintings of the American West. Don Wells (actor)
Donald Wells (July 12, 1922 – February 14, 1984) was an American professional football player for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Wells was born on July 12, 1922, in Waycross, Georgia. He graduated from Fort Pierce Westwood Academy in Florida before attending the University of Georgia where he played for their football team. In addition to his position as an end, Wells was also the team's placekicker. Wells was drafted by Green Bay in the sixth round of the 1945 NFL draft. He played in all 11 games that season, starting in 3 of them and playing on offense as an end and on defense as a defensive end. Wells injured his knee prior to the 1947 NFL season, however he was still able to participate in every game that year. After the season, his injury required surgery. George Shibata
George Shibata (November 14, 1926 – May 20, 1987) was an American military officer, attorney, and film & television actor. He was the first Asian (Japanese) American graduate of any of the United States Service Academies, graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946, and in the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer from 1951 to 1955, as a fighter pilot.
