Arne Hjersing
Arne Hjersing (13 July 1860 – 17 December 1926) was a Norwegian painter. He was born in Saltdal Municipality. He took his education at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry, at the Académie Julian and in Berlin. He made his debut exhibition at the annual National Autumn Exhibition of 1886, and participated regularly after that. Saltdal ( sme, Sálát) is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Salten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rognan. The Académie Julian () was a private art school for painting and sculpture founded in Paris, France, in 1867 by French painter and teacher Rodolphe Julian (1839–1907) that was active from 1868 through 1968. Oslo City Museum (''Oslo Bymuseum'') is a department of Oslo Museum in Oslo, Norway. The museum is located at Frogner Manor (''Frogner Hovedgård'') in Frogner Park (''Frognerparken''). The museum was first founded in 1905 as the association ''Det gamle Christiania''. Initiator and committee leader until 1912 was architect Fritz Holland (1874-1959).
