Armenian Union Of Architects
The Armenian Union of Architects ( hy, Հայաստանի ճարտարապետների միություն, Hayastani chartarapetneri miut’yun), also known as the Chamber of Architects of Armenia was founded in 1932 in Yerevan by the committee under the chairmanship of Gevorg Kochar. The members of committee were Mikayel Mazmanian (Deputy Chairman of the Committee), N. Buniatyan, Alexander Tamanyan, A. Aharonian, F. Hakobyan, B. Arazyan, A. Margaryan, M. Mkrtchyan. About The members of the Union have a significant contribution to the construction of towns, villages, and unique engineered systems throughout Armenia. Currently, the Union of Architects of Armenia has 643 members. The president is Mkrtich Minasyan. The Union is a full member of the International Union of Architects. Yerevan
Yerevan ( , , hy, Երևան , sometimes spelled Erevan) is the capital and largest city of Armenia and one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Situated along the Hrazdan River, Yerevan is the administrative, cultural, and industrial center of the country, as its primate city. It has been the capital since 1918, the fourteenth in the history of Armenia and the seventh located in or around the Ararat Plain. The city also serves as the seat of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese, which is the largest diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and one of the oldest dioceses in the world. Alexander Tamanyan
Alexander Tamanian (, March 4, 1878 – February 20, 1936) was a Russian-born Armenian neoclassical architect, well known for his work in the city of Yerevan. Life and work Tamanian was born in the city of Yekaterinodar in 1878 in the family of a banker. He graduated from the St Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1904. His works portrayed sensitive and artistic neoclassical trends popular in those years. Some of his early works included the mansion of V. P. Kochubei in Tsarskoye Selo, 1911–1912; the house of Prince S. A. Scherbatov in Novinski Boulevard in Moscow, 1911–1913; the village railway employees housing and the tuberculosis sanatorium at the Prozorovskaya station (now Kratovo) near Moscow, 1913–1923; central workshops of Kazan railway in Lyubertsy, 1916). Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) is a non-governmental organisation NGO ( Foundation since 2010) established in Aachen, Germany, in 1982 by Dr. Armen Hakhnazarian. Long before its official creation, RAA interests and activities have been carried out since the late 1960s. In 1996, RAA USA was founded, followed by RAA Armenia in 1998. Until 2020, Samvel Karapetian was the director of the RAA-Armenia.
