Armenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, with the song " Snap" performed by Rosa Linn. The internal selection of Rosa Linn as the Armenian artist in the 2022 contest was announced by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) on 11 March 2022, while the song "Snap" was later presented to the public on 19 March 2022. Armenia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2022. Performing as the closing entry during the show in position 17, "Snap" was announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 14 May. It was later revealed that Armenia placed fifth out of the 17 participating countries in the semi-final with 187 points. Roza Kostandyan ( hy, Ռոզա Կոստանդյան; born 20 May 2000), known professionally as Rosa Linn ( hy, Ռոզա Լին, links=no), is an Armenian singer-songwriter. She started her career by getting signed by Nvak Collective and releasing her debut single "King" with Kiiara in 2021. In 2022, Linn in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy with the song " Snap" and finished in 20th place. The Second Nagorno-Karabakh War was an armed conflict in 2020 that took place in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories. Genealogy was an Armenian supergroup that was formed to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Five of the six members come from a different continent of the Armenian diaspora whose families once spread all over the world after the Armenian genocide of 1915. The five artists from the diaspora also symbolize the five petals of the forget-me-not (official logo of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, commemorated in April 2015), while the center of the flower is represented by the sixth artist, based in Armenia.
