Armand Sabal-Lecco
Armand Sabal-Lecco is a Cameroonian bass guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for playing bass guitar on Paul Simon's " The Rhythm of the Saints" tour in 1991/2. Sabal-Lecco has worked with Paul Simon, the Brecker Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, John Patitucci, Vanessa Williams and many others. Early years Armand Sabal-Lecco was born in Cameroon. Armand Sabal-Lecco's father, Félix Sabal Lecco, was a minister in the government of Ahmadou Ahidjo, and was later appointed ambassador to Italy and France. His father played the guitar as a young man, and two of his brothers are also musicians: Félix was a drummer and Roger is a bass player. ''How to Write Love Songs'' is the only studio album of the short lived rock supergroup Mass Mental? It was released solely in Japan, and has only gained attention worldwide due to internet uploads and imported CDs. A limited run was released in March 2016. Background Mass Mental came into being in 1998 after bassist Robert Trujillo, then of Suicidal Tendencies, began auditioning for a new side project. There he met up with Welsh musician Benji Webbe, whose ragga-punk outfit Dub War had just disbanded following poor sales of their second album and disputes with Earache Records, who had also refused Webbe a solo album. The group was rounded out with second bassist Armand Sabal-Lecco and drummer Brooks Wackerman. Skindred guitarist Mikey Demus claims that the late Snot frontman Lynn Strait performed on the album in one of his final recordings before his death. Henri Dikongué
Henri Dikongué (born 6 December 1967) is a Cameroonian singer and guitarist. Dikongué was born in Douala to a family of musicians. He attended a music school in Paris, where he attempted unsuccessfully to release a first album. He started a music and acting troupe and worked with actor Martin Yog and musicians Alfred M'Bongo and Manuel Wandji, as well as Maranatha, a South African chorus. After finally choosing to settle in Paris in 1989, he perfected his skills with classical guitar and collaborated with African musicians such as Manu Dibango and Papa Wemba. In 1995 he released his first album, ''Wa''. His music mixes elements from makossa, bikutsi, reggae and rumba. He sings in his native tongue, Duala. Donald Henri Grusin (born April 22, 1941) is an American jazz keyboardist, composer, and record producer. He is the younger brother of Dave Grusin. Career Don Grusin grew up in Littleton, Colorado. His father, a native of Latvia, was a classical violinist. His brother, Dave Grusin, is a pianist, record producer, and co-founder of GRP Records. Grusin graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in economics. In the early 1970s, he was an economics professor in Guadalajara, Mexico. Soon after, he taught economics at Foothill College in California. Grusin performed in Bogota, Colombia, as a member of Azteca, a Latin jazz fusion band led by Pete Escovedo that included Escovedo's daughter, drummer Sheila E.
