Arlindo Cruz (born September 14, 1958, birth name Arlindo Domingos da Cruz Filho) is a Brazilian musician and songwriter, working in the genre of samba and pagode. Cruz took part in the most important formation of Grupo Fundo de Quintal, and is considered one of the most important figures of the pagode movement. Biography At the age of seven, Cruz was given his first musical instrument, the cavaquinho, by his father (Arlindão), a friend and partner of Candeia with whom he had founded the Mensageiros do Samba group. From 7 to 12 years, Cruz already played by ear, learning chord voicing from his brother Acyr Marques' guitar playing. Arlindo Gomes Furtado, CSSp (born 15 November 1949) is a Cape Verdean Catholic prelate who has served as Bishop of Santiago de Cabo Verde since 2009. He was the first Bishop of Mindelo from 2004 to 2009. He studied for several years in Coimbra, Portugal, while preparing for his ordination, and several more as a professor there after becoming a priest. He is a member of the Redemptorists. Arlindo dos Santos Cruz (born 26 April 1940), known as just Arlindo, is a Brazilian former footballer. Club career Born in Ilhéus, Bahia, Arlindo began his career in the youth sector of EC Vitória in 1957. In 1962 he joined Botafogo, where he won the state championship and the Rio-São Paulo Tournament. In 1964 he moved to Mexican football, where he made history.
